As an entry project into our second semester of our first year in Design Principles, we were set out to do a material and light study where we each are needed to produce a lamp shade that fits a specified and standardized lamp base. We could only use one selected paper material type (at a limited amount) while restricted to basic manufacturing techniques and of course, not set the products self on fire.
My product used a very vertical design to capture and distribute the majority of the light evenly but not inhibit the heat buildup of the lamp by allowing the openings to be directly above and bellow of the lamp.
